Last year, I dey spend 10k every week for food for PH and I no know where the money dey go. Mile 1, Rumuokoro, all those markets - price don cost but I discover say na my mistake.

Now I dey use 3k to 4k per week for same food. Here na wetin I do:

 1. I start to write list before I enter market. Before, I dey go market without plan. I go see fish, I go buy. See new shoe, I buy. Now I write list for house: rice 2 cups, garri, oil, pepper. If e no dey list, I no buy am. Simple.

 2. I dey go market for Wednesday and Saturday morning early.* Tuesday price for Mile 1 Market dey high because na market day. But if you go Wednesday 7am, traders wan sell quick. I don price tomatoes for 2k on Tuesday, but 1,200 for Wednesday morning.

 3. I dey buy in bulk with my neighbour.* Me and my neighbour for Diobu dey contribute 5k each to buy one bag of rice, we share am. E cheaper pass to buy cup by cup. One cup of rice na 800, but if you buy bag, e go be like 600 per cup.

 4. I stop to dey buy food outside.* I bin dey buy shawarma 2,500 every Friday. Now I dey cook for house. That 2,500 x 4 Fridays na 10k per month wey I dey save now.

 5. I dey track every spending for my phone Notes.* Even if na 100 naira biscuit, I write am. At the end of week, I go know where my money go.

For one month, I save like 25k just from these small changes. That 25k na wetin I take start my PiggyVest.

If you dey for PH and money dey run you, try am this week. Write list tomorrow before you enter market.
