Important meeting happened today at Aso Villa, Abuja.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with state governors from all 6 geopolitical zones to discuss economic hardship facing Nigerians and implementation of the new minimum wage.

The meeting which held behind closed doors focused on rising cost of living, fuel price, and how states can work with federal government to bring relief to citizens.

Sources inside the presidency say the president told governors to ensure workers receive the new minimum wage and to invest more in agriculture to reduce food prices.

Many Nigerians are complaining about high cost of food in markets in Lagos, Kano, and Port Harcourt. Labour unions NLC and TUC have also warned that many states have not fully implemented the wage.
