When I was not productive, I was spending a lot of money without knowing. I would wake up late, buy food outside, take expensive transport because I was rushing, and buy things I did not need. Now I follow a simple daily routine that helps me save money and get more work done.

Morning Routine (6:00 AM - 8:00 AM)

I wake up at 6:00 AM. I do not touch my phone for the first 30 minutes. I pray, drink water, and do small exercise for 10 minutes. Then I make my own breakfast. Making breakfast at home saves me about 1,000 Naira every day compared to buying bread and beans outside. That is 30,000 Naira per month.

 Planning Time (8:00 AM - 9:00 AM)

I write down 3 things I must do today. For example, today my 3 things are: Write one LODPOST article, research investment news, and share my articles on 5 Facebook groups. When I have a plan, I do not waste time scrolling TikTok. I also write my budget for the day. How much will I spend on transport? On food? I put it in my notes.

 Work Block (9:00 AM - 2:00 PM).

This is my deep work time. I put my phone on silent and I work. No Instagram, no WhatsApp status checking. I write, I read about money, I learn a skill. I discovered that I do more work in 3 hours of focused work than in 8 hours of distracted work.

 Evening Check (8:00 PM)

Every night by 8:00 PM, I check my expenses. I open my notes and add everything I spent today. Did I stay within my budget? If I spent too much, I try to reduce tomorrow. This habit alone helped me save an extra 20,000 Naira last month because I started seeing where my money was leaking.

This routine is simple but it works. You do not need to be perfect. Start with waking up one hour earlier and cooking your own breakfast. That small change alone can save you thousands.
