Why I Think Jumia Is Better Than Temu For Nigerians In 2026 - My Honest Review
Everyone is talking about Temu now because it is very cheap. I have ordered from both Temu and Jumia, and honestly, I still think Jumia is better for us in Nigeria. Here is why.
1. Fast Delivery
Jumia: Delivers in 1-3 days in Lagos, Enugu, Abuja, and 2-5 days to other states.
Temu: Takes 10-20 days because it comes from China. Sometimes your order stays in customs for weeks.
If you need something urgently, Jumia is the winner.
2. Pay On Delivery
Jumia allows you to pay on delivery. You can see the product before you pay.
Temu only accepts online payment with card. Many Nigerians don't have dollar cards that work, and if the product is bad, you have already paid.
3. Easy Returns
If Jumia sends you a fake or wrong item, you can return it within 7-15 days and get your money back quickly to your Jumia wallet.
With Temu, returning an item to China is very stressful and shipping cost is high. Some items cannot be returned at all.
4. No Hidden Customs Fees
With Jumia, what you see is what you pay. No extra charges.
With Temu, sometimes when the package arrives in Nigeria, you will be asked to pay extra customs or delivery fees by the courier.
5. Jumia Understands Nigeria
Jumia has offices in Nigeria, customer care that speaks Pidgin, English, and they understand our roads and addresses. You can even call their agent.
Temu customer service is foreign and mostly automated. If you have issue, you will chat with a robot.
6. Support Local Businesses
When you buy on Jumia, you are supporting Nigerian sellers - traders in Lagos, Aba, Onitsha.
Temu money goes straight to China and Chinese factories.
7. Better For Electronics and Big Items
For clothes, Temu can be very cheap. But for phones, electronics, home appliances, Jumia is more trusted. You get warranty.
I ordered a power bank on Temu, it took 18 days and the capacity was fake. I ordered the same thing on Jumia, it came in 2 days with warranty.
Does Temu Have Any Advantage?
Yes. Temu is cheaper for small items like fashion, earrings, phone cases, and toys. If you are not in a hurry and want cheap fashion, Temu is okay.
But overall, for fast delivery, trust, returns, and peace of mind, Jumia is still better for Nigerians in 2026.
Conclusion: If you want cheap fashion and you can wait, use Temu. If you want fast, trusted, and easy returns, use Jumia.
