Two-factor authentication is a security setting in your Facebook account that can help in protecting your account apart from password. You will be required to add your phone number or email to login/security setting.

Whenever you login in a new device or browser, or there is an attempted login from a device that is unknown to your account,a code will be sent to your registered phone number which you will use to allow you to login.

Be carefully should anyone ask you to share or send the code sent to your phone. They might be attempting to login to your account.

Additionally you will aslo receive notification alerts of attempted login, time an location on your phone should someone try to login to your account.
