The 13Km Outering road in east of Nairobi has been ranked as the most dangerous and riskiest road in the world.According to Claudia Adriazola-Steil, the Director on Road Safety at World Resources Institute (WRI), the survey report hanked the 13km Outering road in eastern Nairobi as the deadliest road.The report shows that an estimated number of 44people lost their lives between January to September 2021.
Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia on July 16th 2022 stated that the government in conjuction with other agencies will come up with measures to address the challenge.Some of the proposed measures include constucting footbridges in destined crossing areas,fences to prevent pedestrians from crossing in undesignated areas as well as conducting public awareness campaigns to the on adherence to traffic safety rules especially for pedestrians.
