Many people think you need a laptop to be a ghostwriter. I don't have a laptop. I use only my small Android phone and I still deliver 5000 words.
This is how I do it and the apps I use.
1. My Notes App - Where I Write First
I don't write directly on Google Docs because network can spoil everything. I write first in my phone notes app. Even without data, I can write.
When I finish one chapter, I copy it.
2. Google Docs - My Portfolio
I use Google Docs to keep my samples. I have 2 folders there - one for romance samples, one for client work.
When a client asks "show me your work", I just send Google Docs link. It looks professional and they cannot say I stole someone's work.
3. Grammarly Keyboard - My English Helper
I downloaded Grammarly keyboard from Play Store. It corrects my spelling as I type.
I type with Grammarly keyboard on, so my work has less mistakes. Clients trust you more when your English is clean.
4. Word Counter App
Clients pay per word. So you must know how many words you wrote. I use Word Counter app. You paste your story and it tells you 1000 words, 2000 words.
So no client can cheat me.
5. Canva - For My Book Cover
For GoodNovel, you need cover image. I use Canva free version on my phone. I don't use the same photo twice. I just change small thing and download again.
That's all I use. No laptop, no big grammar.
My phone, my notes app, Google Docs, Grammarly, Word Counter, Canva.
If you have a phone, you can start today. You don't need to wait till you buy a laptop.
These apps have been really helpful, judging the fact that I don't have a laptop yet.
What app do you use to write? Let me know in the comments.
