Leo loved building things. While other kids played games after school, he spent his time taking apart old clocks and toy cars to see how they worked.
One day, his school announced a science fair. Every student had to create a project. Leo decided to build a small volcano model.
He mixed baking soda, vinegar, and red food coloring inside the volcano. When he poured the vinegar in, foam burst out of the top like hot lava.
The judges were impressed, but Leo explained the real science behind it. The baking soda and vinegar created a chemical reaction that produced gas, causing the eruption.
Leo didn’t win first prize, but he learned something important: science is not only about getting answers—it is about asking questions and discovering new things.
