In January 1991, General H. Norman Schwarzkopf led the largest coalition army since World War II, comprising 540,000 troops from 34 nations, to liberate Kuwait from Iraqi occupation. Schwarzkopf's "Left Hook" strategy, a bold and audacious plan, caught Iraqi forces off guard, resulting in a decisive victory with minimal coalition casualties (292 killed). The 100-hour ground war destroyed Iraq's fourth-largest army, with estimates suggesting 20,000-35,000 Iraqi soldiers killed 

Schwarzkopf, known as "Stormin' Norman," was a seasoned veteran of Vietnam, wounded twice and awarded three Silver Stars. His leadership style emphasized competence, strategy, and care for his soldiers, earning him respect and admiration. After the war, he retired from public life, refusing to capitalize on his fame or pursue politics
