One of the reasons women also get scammed is this thing of trying to prove you're not a gold digger.

With reason sometimes being that "I'm not like the other girls".

Sis? It'll get you in debt!

I'd call it "the curse of a good girl". The thing that women do to prove that they can ride with a man in good and bad times.

Do their own opinions, values, standards, feelings, boundaries have to matter? Nooo...

Being in a "relationship" comes first. Pleasing their partner comes first. Fixing things comes first, and being needed comes first. 😒

If you watched "The Tinder Swindler" on Netflix, you'd realise it was one of the tactics Simon used.

A lot of manipulators key into the loose boundaries that "good girls" have. Some can sense the "mothering" nature of the woman.

And what do mothers do?

Mothers keep their children safe a lot of times, "without thinking" and "without questioning".

You're not your partner's mother. It is healthy to ask questions and have boundaries in relationships.

You don't have to audition to prove that you're "keepable".

If you feel hesitant or resistant about certain things in your relationship, it's okay to decline or ask to think about it.

You don't have to suffer or be in constant fear with someone to validate the love you have for someone.

If you don't feel safe, it's okay to excuse yourself.

Relationship shouldn't feel like you're in a Fast and Furious movie. If you think things are moving fast or they feel weird, it most likely is weird.

And if you're in doubt, you can absolutely ask questions. Ask people you trust. Ask professionals.

And remember, you don't have to prove anything.
