Zahra, The Quick-Tempered Girl
In a distant town in the Arab region, there lived a young girl named Zahra. She was strikingly beautiful and intelligent, but she carried a quick temper that made her different from everyone else. A wrong word, a teasing glance, or even a small disagreement could ignite her anger instantly.
People soon learned to tread carefully around her. Friends avoided casual conversations, afraid her temper would flare. Even her parents, who loved her dearly, often found themselves unsure how to calm her down. Though admired for her beauty, her quick temper isolated her, creating invisible walls between her and the world.
One hot afternoon, as Zahra walked alone through the marketplace, an old wise woman called out to her:
“Zahra, anger is like fire. Feed it, and it will burn you. Leave it, and it will die on its own, leaving you in peace.”
Zahra paused, her heart pounding. The words echoed in her mind, stirring a strange mix of fear and hope. She thought of the times her anger had hurt friends and pushed people away. Tears welled in her eyes as she realized how lonely she had become despite her beauty and intelligence.
From that day on, Zahra made a conscious effort to practice patience. Whenever anger threatened to rise, she took a deep breath, counted to ten, and reminded herself of the wise woman’s words. It wasn’t easy; sometimes she stumbled and snapped at those she loved. But gradually, the people around her noticed the change. Friends who had once avoided her returned, curious about her new calm demeanor.
One day, a little boy accidentally knocked over her basket of fruits in the market. Normally, Zahra would have shouted. But this time, she laughed softly, helped him pick up the fruits, and patted his shoulder kindly. People watching were amazed.
Years passed, and Zahra’s reputation transformed. She became known not only for her beauty but for her kindness, patience, and wisdom. Her journey taught the entire town an invaluable lesson: anger solves nothing, but patience, understanding, and compassion can change hearts and bring people together.
And so, Zahra, the girl who once was feared for her fiery temper, became a beacon of calm and love, inspiring everyone around her to be better, kinder, and more understanding.
It’s very painful but it taught others to be kind to others
