Have you ever felt busy all day but achieved nothing? That was me.
I was always online. Replying to WhatsApp messages, checking statuses, hanging out with friends. At the end of the day, my books were still empty and my mind was tired. I knew something had to change, so I tried Monk Mode.
Monk Mode is not about becoming a monk. It simply means you intentionally cut off distractions for a period of time to focus on one important goal.
*How I Practice Monk Mode:*
*1. Controlled Phone Usage:* Instead of replying to messages instantly, I check WhatsApp only twice a day. If it's not urgent, it can wait. This alone saved me over 3 hours daily.
*2. Intentional Social Life:* I stopped saying yes to every outing. Now I only go out if it's about personal growth, school work, or business. The rest is just noise.
*3. Deep Work Block:* From 8 PM to midnight, my phone is on Do Not Disturb. No notifications, no calls. Just me, my books, and my goals.
*The Result:*
In just two weeks, my focus improved. I can now read for two hours straight without touching my phone. My anxiety reduced and I finally have peace of mind. Monk Mode taught me that saying NO to distractions is actually saying YES to myself.
If you are a student struggling with focus, try Monk Mode for 7 days. It might just change your semester.
