The crucifixion of Jesus is a significant event in Christian history. According to the Bible, Jesus was arrested by the Roman authorities, tried and sentenced to death by crucifixion. He was made to carry his own cross to the place of execution, called Golgotha, outside the city walls of Jerusalem. There, he was nailed to the cross and left to die.

During his crucifixion, Jesus suffered immense physical and emotional pain. He was mocked and ridiculed by the Roman soldiers and some of the people who witnessed his execution. According to the Bible, Jesus died after several hours on the cross.

The crucifixion of Jesus is a central event in Christian theology, as it is believed to represent the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made for humanity's sins. Christians believe that through his death and resurrection, Jesus offers salvation and eternal life to those who believe in him. The cross has become a powerful symbol of the Christian faith and is widely used in Christian art and iconography.
