In Celebration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day, Kualuh Hulu Police Distribute and Install National Flags Along Aek Kanopan Highway
In commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence, the Kualuh Hulu Sector Police (Polsek Kualuh Hulu), under Labuhanbatu Police Resort (Polres Labuhanbatu), carried out a meaningful patriotic campaign on Wednesday afternoon (August 6, 2025). Officers distributed and installed the national Red-and-White flags (Bendera Merah Putih) to road users along the Trans-Sumatran Highway (Jalinsum) in Aek Kanopan.
The activity took place in front of the Aek Kanopan Traffic Unit Office, located on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. It targeted various road users, including motorcyclists, motorcycle rickshaw drivers (betor), and both public and private vehicle drivers.
Led by Deputy Chief of Kualuh Hulu Police, IPTU P. Sirait, the campaign involved a combined team of officers, including IPDA Dedy Usnardi, IPDA Rinadli Tanjung, IPDA Sandro F. Panjaitan, SH., MH., AIPTU Kalam Sirait, AIPDA Beni Galingging, AIPDA Ade Iyon S., and BRIPKA S. Joko.
“This initiative aims to awaken the spirit of nationalism and patriotism among the public, especially road users, as we welcome Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day,” stated IPTU P. Sirait.
In addition to distributing flags, the police also encouraged drivers to proudly display the national flag on their vehicles as a sign of love and commitment to the nation.
Officers remained on standby to monitor and regulate traffic to ensure smooth flow and prevent congestion during the activity.
Labuhanbatu Police Chief, AKBP Choky Sentosa Meliala, S.I.K., S.H., M.H., through Acting Public Relations Head IPTU Arwin, S.H., emphasized that this initiative was part of the Indonesian National Police’s (Polri) ongoing effort to instill national values within the community.
“The spirit of independence must continuously be ignited, including through simple but meaningful actions such as distributing and installing the Merah Putih flags. It is a form of patriotism that we must preserve together,” affirmed IPTU Arwin.
He also expressed appreciation for the enthusiastic response from the public and the commitment of Kualuh Hulu Police personnel who carried out the event in a disciplined, humane manner while ensuring traffic remained orderly.
“Polri is not only a law enforcement institution, but also an integral part of society that actively upholds national values,” he concluded.
