*Mistake 1: Sending just ‘Hi’ with no context*
I’m a Virtual Assistant, and I got blocked by a chief because he thought I was a bot. It made me feel bad and weakened my motivation, which is why I stopped messaging for a while.
*Mistake 2: Undercharging and overworking*
I said yes to ₦2,000 for a week of work because I was scared of losing the client. I ended up working 5 hours a day and burning out.
_Lesson:_ Know your value. It’s better to have 1 client who pays well than 5 who drain you.
*Mistake 3: Waiting for clients instead of following up*
I would send one message and never follow up again. Most clients are busy, not rude. I lost 4 potential jobs this way.
